Adventure Balloons NZ offers an unforgettable and truly unique wedding experience high above the Canterbury landscape, with private charter hot air balloon flights designed for a wide range of special occasions including weddings, marriage proposals and bespoke requests, with the flexibility to tailor each journey to suit the occasion.

Couples frequently choose Adventure Balloons NZ to mark life’s most meaningful moments. Many receive a flight as a wedding gift, while others use the experience to celebrate anniversaries or even surprise a partner with a mid-air proposal. The peaceful, panoramic setting of a hot air balloon creates an incredibly romantic atmosphere, and the company has also hosted wedding ceremonies in the sky on exclusive private charters, making it one of the most unique venues in New Zealand.

Flights are available in three different balloon sizes, offering flexibility depending on group size and experience type. The adventure begins in Methven, where after take-off, the balloon gently ascends, revealing sweeping views of the Southern Alps and Canterbury Plains, with opportunities for photography, including in-flight images captured via an onboard camera. The flight then gradually descends to a lower altitude, allowing guests a closer perspective of the landscape below. After landing, passengers are treated to a celebratory drink in the landing field.
