Twelve years have passed since that fateful Tinder swipe in 2014. Ten years have passed since Rob knelt on the floor of that Parisian apartment. Paris was everything it promised to be—romantic, timeless, wrapped in a soft, golden light. But the highlight of that entire journey wasn't a famous monument or a crowded tourist spot. It was tucked away in the quiet sanctuary of our rented apartment.

We have lived a lifetime in this decade. We have experienced the highest peaks of human joy and the absolute lowest depths of human suffering. We have loved, we have lost, we have grieved, and we have rebuilt.

There is only one thing left to do.

We have spent twelve years building the foundation, weathering the storms, and nurturing our beautiful family. We are, in every single sense of the word, a team. We are a solid, unyielding unit. And now, as we look toward the future, all that is left is to make it official in the eyes of the world.

It's time to close the circle. It's time for us to finally share the same surname.

Our love story started with a Tinder match in January 2023. Like many modern love stories, it began with a simple swipe, but what happened next was anything but ordinary. For our first date, he invited me over for dinner and cooked venison schnitzels. It was the first time I'd ever tried deer, and looking back now, it seems fitting that hunting would become such a huge part of our story together.

From that first dinner, we quickly discovered how much we had in common. We both share a love for the outdoors, adventure, camping, and hunting. Whether we're hiking into remote valleys, sitting around a campfire, or spending time exploring the mountains together, we've always been happiest when we're outside experiencing life side by side.

New Zealand holds a particularly special place in our hearts. It was the destination of our very first holiday together in 2023, and we fell in love with it instantly. The breathtaking landscapes, the people, the hunting, and especially the rugged beauty of the West Coast captured our hearts. Since that first trip, New Zealand has become our second home, and we now spend around five weeks there each year pursuing our shared passion for hunting and adventure.

One of the most meaningful parts of our relationship was sharing these experiences with our beloved German Shorthaired Pointer, Heidi. She was much more than a hunting dog; she was family, our adventure companion, and a constant source of joy. Losing Heidi was one of the hardest things we've experienced together, and her absence is felt on every trip we take. Through that loss, we've learned how important it is to cherish every moment and every memory we make together.

Our engagement happened in the most perfect way imaginable—doing exactly what we love, in the place we love most. On 12 May 2026, after harvesting our first red stag together in the mountains of New Zealand, he proposed. There were no crowds, no elaborate plans, and no audience—just the two of us surrounded by the mountains that have given us so many incredible memories. It was quiet, simple, and completely us.

Like many couples, we face challenges. One of the biggest is that we both share a passion for hunting, which can be an expensive hobby. Between travel, gear, and planning adventures, it takes commitment and sacrifice. But every trip reminds us why it's worth it. The experiences, memories, and time spent together are things we wouldn't trade for anything.

Winning this wedding escape would mean the world to us because New Zealand is woven into the fabric of our relationship. It is where some of our happiest memories were made, where we became engaged, and where we feel most connected to each other. Being able to celebrate our marriage in a place that has played such a significant role in our journey would be incredibly special.

At the heart of our story is a simple truth: we're two people who found each other unexpectedly, built a life around shared adventures, and continue choosing each other every day. Whether we're climbing mountains, camping under the stars, or simply reminiscing about our adventures with Heidi, we're happiest together.

A New Zealand wedding would be more than just a beautiful ceremony—it would be a celebration of the place where our love story truly came to life.

Jessie & Shivon

Shivon and I first met at a skate park in Ranui, West Auckland. For me, it was love at first sight. Not long after, I whisked her away to Great Barrier Island, where I grew up and that’s really where our love story began.

From there, we packed up a van we had converted into a camper and made the move to the West Coast, where we began building a life together.

Our first few years weren’t always easy. Shivon went through a molar pregnancy, which later led to lung cancer, something she incredibly fought and overcame. We also experienced the heartbreaking loss of our son at just three months old. Through some of the hardest moments of our lives, we held onto each other, and it was during this chapter that we became engaged.

Ten years on, we now have two beautiful daughters under three and a life we’re incredibly grateful for. But between raising our family and everything life has thrown our way, we still haven’t found the time or the money to finally tie the knot.

Winning the Enchanted Wedding Competition would mean so much to our family and would give us the chance to finally make our dream of getting married a reality.

Rebecca & Eric

We met in 2015 - we steadily became best friends for about two months, then more. After these two months we purchasing a car together and travelled for one month around South Island before Eric departed New Zealand. Later I travelled to his home country and spend another three months with him. This was the start 2.5 years of seeing each other only 50% of the time the rest was lots of video chats. In 2018 we then met up again in NZ, we both got some seasonal jobs and enjoyed the snow, and we completed a partnership visa. We became more settled in our partnership living in Auckland in summers and exploring different mountains over winter seasons. Eric has become a citizen this year and we really have made a home in Aotearoa settling in Springfield for the past two years.

Your engagement story:

Eric decided to pop the question on a relaxed afternoon walk on the West Coast, South Island. At the beach we had never been to before - I had made some delicious tacos for us, so he decided this was "the time". The location he chose was Carter Beach and this became quite significant, as we named our first born - our son Carter. West Coast has such a special place in our hearts.

What makes your relationship yours:

We share a love for being outside, chilling for hours in picturesque locations, sea kayaking, camping, some hiking, snow sports - just enjoying scenic nature in all the seasons, and Aotearoa has a lot to enjoy. I guess also pretty early we developed private jokes and an instinctive understanding of each others unique quirks. We continue these adventures now we are a family - with our two children Carter and Kowhai.

Why this wedding escape would mean so much to you:

We absolutely love the idea of a small intimate wedding of 20. I am enchanted by the prospect of bringing outdoor vibes inside. The absolutely gorgeous "The Long Table" fits our dreams of a wedding dinner party. The native forest and glowworm dell sound stunning. Enchanted is not too far from our house - but also far enough away to feel like a getaway - our favourite thing to do. Having our immediate family of 12, stay for 3 nights is perfect as they will fly into Christchurch and enjoy the drive through Arthur's Pass with us. We love the idea of a food truck for our wedding and this has been something Eric has always suggested, probably will be tacos.

We can't wait for our closest and dearest to escape with us for our truly special event. Practically with the cost of living these days, this seems like a significant opportunity to assist us in our wedding adventure.

Jojo & Neill

Our love story began a little over a year ago, when a mutual friend set us up on a blind date, under the premise that we both loved riding bikes and shared a Christian faith. Me being me, thought, "Sure, I need more friends to ride bikes with, so why not?" It couldn't be any worse than any of the Hinge or Bumble dates I'd subjected myself to. Not expecting anything to ever come of it, we exchanged a few messages over Facebook and agreed to meet for a drink... and on the 13th of April, 2025, I met Neill, the love of my life.

As normal, I was running a few minutes late, and he was waiting for me, looking a little nervous, in a clean shirt and with freshly washed hair. I remember thinking that it was adorable that he had clearly made an effort. We were off to a good start.

The conversation flowed, and right from the start, it just felt easy. One drink turned into dinner, and before we knew it, several hours had passed and it was time to wrap things up. Neill walked me to my car and gave me a hug, promising we should do this again as he had really enjoyed himself, and I went home happy but unsure if he saw us purely as friends. I didn't have to wonder long, as the very next morning he messaged me, "Good morning sunshine", and wanted to know when I was free for our next date, leaving my tummy full of butterflies.

What followed next was such a natural progression. Our dates were filled with walks around Hagley Park, running and biking around the Port Hills, little picnic lunches and dinners somewhere remote with a stunning view, and a whole lot of quality time. Having both had previous long term relationships that did not eventuate, we were mindful of the fact that we didn't want to waste time if we weren't a good match. We had both taken the time to reflect, heal, and work on ourselves, which meant that we were both willing to be open and vulnerable with each other, to talk about our values, needs, and what we truly wanted from a relationship. Our motto right from the very beginning was to "start how we mean to continue", and although it was difficult while we were still getting to know each other, and lead to some awkward conversations, it gave us a fantastic foundation to build our relationship on.

The only natural progression was to then meet each other's families, and as Neill is South African born and raised, barely five months after meeting each other, we were onboard a plane bound for a month long South African adventure. Jet lag, future in-laws, and living in each other's pockets did nothing to dampen our newly found romance, and it was very apparent to both of us that this was in fact the real deal. Neill knew that he was on to a winner when he found me and was determined to lock me down, but he needed some strong guidance on which direction to take regarding ring styles. Oh, how quickly life can change, from wondering if I'll ever meet anyone one minute, to scrolling Instagram for ring inspo the next. I knew some bling was in my future, but now we were playing the waiting game as I didn't know when it would happen. Then, shortly after returning home to NZ, Neill proposed to me at Godly Heads, with a custom ring that he had made in South Africa.

They say that "when you know, you know", and I knew! I had an unwavering certainty that Neill was my 'forever person'. Finding your soul mate is a tall order, let alone later in life (me 33, and Neill 41), when you're set in your ways and know exactly who you are and what you want, both for yourself and from a partner. However, I can only describe our relationship as a match made in heaven. Neill ticks boxes I didn't even know I had. He makes all the previous heartbreak, all the tears, and all the lonely days worth it. He is proof that the best things in life are worth the wait. I could not imagine my life without him. I love him, and I love us.

Our dream is to have a small, intimate wedding ceremony with only our immediate family present to witness our vows. So when I stumbled upon this Enchanted wedding giveaway I was hooked, it sounds to perfect to be true. Being married is extremely important to both of us, and we don't want to do it sooner rather than later, but trying to figure out logistics and what we will and won't compromise on has been tricky. All we really want is a beautiful backdrop in nature where we can say our vows to each other, and celebrate with our families. We would be truely honoured if you chose us.
