Lucy McCrostie, a florist based in Queenstown whose love of blooms and creative approach to arranging flowers in her hospo job led to the launch of All Bunched Up in 2018. Since then she has continued to grow her online presence and has collaborated with global brands such as Rolls Royce and BMW.
This month I caught up with the gal herself and it’s fair to say, Lucy is an absolute vision. Her kind, calm and caring approach and knowledge within the floral world is the missing piece on the journey of planning your wedding day. Catering to large weddings, intimate weddings and elopements – Lucy and the All Bunched up Team pride themselves on their flexibility and creativity to suit their clients needs.
Read on for more about Lucy, how she got into the floral industry and her recommendations for guaranteed show stopping blooms on your wedding day.
What inspired you to become a florist?
“It happened by accident! I was always in love with flowers, I loved being given them, growing them and being around them. I worked in a restaurant who wanted flowers in vases so I would arrange them weekly from the supermarket. I started to order from wholesale accounts then friends would ask so I started up an Instagram account and website – my business grew from there!”
What do you enjoy most about being a florist?
“Seeing how happy flowers make people – and seeing the hours and hours of planning that goes into weddings come to life.”

“Botanical Press in Wanaka – send them your bridal bouquet and they will preserve and frame them.”

What is the best way to ensure flowers stay fresh throughout the day?
“Kept out of sunlight.. Kept cold until last minute.”
